MONDAY'S AT HVAC

In my previous role, I spent years visiting contractors with wholesale representatives to present new products. A question that consistently arose, despite the exciting ancillaries I was there to demonstrate (no rolling of eyes, please). was "Where do you buy your copper?" At the time, this puzzled me.
Now, I understand its significance. I apologise if you are already aware of the following, as it was all very new to me.
At HVAC Wholesale, we source our copper from two manufacturers: The Lawton Tube Company and Wednesbury Copper Tube. Lawton, a family-owned business based in Coventry, has been trading for over 100 years. Wednesbury's history dates back to 1904 in Birmingham, and you're likely more familiar with the name Mueller Industries, which purchased the company in 1997. Both manufacturers are excellent and have been incredibly supportive of HVAC Wholesale since day one.
Every morning, I monitor the London Metal Exchange (LME) to observe price changes. The LME describes copper as a highly conductive, durable, and recyclable metal crucial for electrical systems, construction, green technologies, and renewable energy infrastructure. Sorry, HVAC colleagues, we don't get a mention.
Buying copper is an art, from deciding when to purchase to when to hold back. The price is influenced by various factors, including economic growth, energy prices, trade policies, quotas, geopolitical instability, currency fluctuations, production levels, and industry demand. Since the LME trades in US Dollars, currency exchange rates are paramount to the prices you pay, a task expertly managed by our partners at Lawton and Mueller. Thank Goodness!
We maintain a comprehensive stock of copper in 3m and 6m straight lengths, as well as 6m, 15m, and 30m coils, with box quantities varying by size.
Sales of pre-insulated copper are growing each month. Many engineers find that the increase in cost is offset by the time savings during installation.
At HVAC Wholesale, running out of copper would be unthinkable.
While sales from existing stock are straightforward, forward quotations and orders require careful planning, as copper is the product most susceptible to price changes.
So, why is this important for you?
We would like to ask all our readers to consider HVAC Wholesale the next time you need copper. As an independent company, we offer freedom and flexibility and are often overlooked as a competitive option for commodities like copper. Give us a try – we might just surprise you.
Thanks for reading,
June x
