MONDAY'S AT HVAC - PUMP UP THE VOLUME

This week, I'm excited to talk about one of my favourite subjects: Condensate Removal Pumps. If I ever went on Mastermind, this would definitely be my chosen specialist subject!

Just when you thought our counter shelves were full, we've added two new pumps to our selection:

The Refco Vamp-F Mini Pump

This pump is quick and easy to install, highly versatile, exceptionally quiet, and the smallest of its kind on the market. It offers a 15m lift, 22 liters/hour flow, and operates at a mere 18dBA.

Price: £80.00 + VAT

It's small, quiet, and has a great flow, but the question for me is whether these features are enough to make you switch from your current preferred brands. We have them available to purchase, and your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The Siccom Flowatch DT 20

This is a complete kit that includes trunking and all necessary installation accessories for air conditioners up to 20kW. It is advertised as silent, and I can confirm that it truly is. The trunking may be different from what you're used to in the UK, but at £99.00 + VAT, this is currently the cheapest mini pump with included trunking on the market.

As a former Little Giant representative, I must admit it was initially a bit uncomfortable for me when HVAC Wholesale started selling so many Sauermann products. I had spent years working against them, and I have fond memories of working trade counters, evangelizing the features and benefits of the VCMA 20S.

Sadly, I don't recall ever being asked for one here at HVAC. The brand has slowly been lost in the U.K. I once saw a VCMA that had been installed for 13 years and was still pumping away!

However, Sauermann and their team have been brilliant from the start, offering excellent training and stock availability, and the brand now has genuine confidence in the UK market.

I'm sure many of you, like me, find yourselves looking at AC and refrigeration installations wherever you go. While I've never installed a pump myself, nothing frustrates me more than seeing a pump in the wrong place.

My optician, for instance, has a tank pump installed under a wall mount in their treatment room. It's been there for years! For those who know me, you'll know I can't help but mention it, though they don't seem bothered.

By contrast, a tidy installation, where you can see real care and consideration in the pump placement, fills me with pride. It sounds a bit daft, but we all have our quirks!
